This page contains information about projects I have worked on over the last 10+ years in the fields of e-learning, writing, editing and content strategy.

If you’d like to know more about any of them, feel free to contact me.

2021–Ongoing — GALA

Globalization and Localization Association (GALA Global) is a nonprofit trade organization for the language service industry.

Organizing a resource center

Over the years, GALA built a substantial collection of articles, reports, and recordings, but valuable resources were becoming harder to discover and some information was no longer current.

What I do
Since 2021, I have analyzed access and engagement data to identify the most popular content, and then reorganized the library around these findings. As part of this project, I developed SEO and accessibility guidelines for content contributors, implemented structured metadata and schema markup, and documented content standards to support human readers and AI-powered search tools.

The outcome
The GALA resource center now gives greater visibility to useful, current content and follows consistent standards for accessibility, search visibility, and content management. A maintenance process helps to keep the library organized and up to date.

Creating an expert webinar program

Topics, promotion, preparation, and follow-up all affect the experience, and a successful webinar requires more than a good speaker, scheduled well in advance.

What I did
I designed a program structure covering editorial planning, promotion, and pre- and post-event workflows, in place since 2021.

The outcome
The webinar series can be planned further ahead and managed consistently throughout the year.

Developing the annual GALA conference program

A conference program is only as strong as its speakers and sessions. The challenge is creating an event that reflects the interests of a global community while balancing new ideas and different professional perspectives.

What I do
Since September 2021, I’ve worked with GALA’s program committee to develop the content program for the annual conference. I draft the call for proposals, then collect submissions for review. The committee and I evaluate topics together and select speakers. Program drafted, I prepare moderators to facilitate discussions and support presenters.

The outcome
The conference brings together language experts from diverse backgrounds and specialties, offering a program that combines industry trends, practical guidance, and opportunities for professional development and community building.

GALA Academy

The language service industry offers many ways to learn on the job, but there are only a few opportunities for structured professional development. GALA asked me to create educational programs that addressed the needs of professionals across a variety of roles.

What I do
Since 2022, I’ve designed and developed GALA Academy by identifying relevant topics and working with Academy leaders and subject-matter experts, as well as promoting learning opportunities for professionals across the industry: project managers, vendor managers, sales and marketing professionals, data analysts, and more.

The outcome
GALA Academy has become an established part of GALA’s educational offerings. It attracts hundreds of participants every year and provides professional development opportunities across a wide range of topics.

2019–Ongoing — Ring

Ring LLC is an American home security and smart home company. It is best known for inventing the smart video doorbell.

Helping a Global Brand Sound Local in Italy

The challenge
Ring needs Italian-market content that felt natural and culturally relevant to local customers, with product terms that stayed consistent across every channel.

What I do
I review, edit, and create Italian-language content across product pages, advertising campaigns, blogs, and marketing materials. I validate Italian terminology for products and features, so customers see the same terms everywhere, and I provide cultural consultancy.

The outcome
An ongoing editorial, terminology, and cultural review process that supports the brand’s presence in the Italian market.

2017–2020 — Wordbee

Wordbee is a cloud-based translation management platform for enterprises, LSPs, and game studios.

Building a consistent industry blog

Wordbee wanted its blog to become a reliable source of insights for the localization community to keep up with translation technology changes as they occurred.

What I did
I managed the blog for three years and developed an editorial calendar focused on topics relevant to the translation and localization industry.

The outcome
The company published consistent industry content over a three-year period and became a more active contributor to industry conversations.

2014–2016 — TAUS

TAUS started as an industry think tank. Today, it acts as a global resource for machine translation data and quality evaluation.

Developing a post-editing program in 14 languages

TAUS wanted to help language professionals develop the skills they would need through formal training for post-editors as machine translation became more widely adopted.

What I did
I identified audience needs, recruited and coached subject-matter experts, and developed the practical part of the program and the promotional content.

The outcome
The result was a machine translation post-editing training program delivered in 14 languages, supported by a series of webinars to introduce each language module.

Co-authoring industry research reports

The translation industry was changing rapidly as machine translation, automation, and new language technologies became more widely adopted. Companies needed reliable information to help them understand the technologies available and prepare for future developments.

What I did
I co-authored two industry reports for TAUS. For the TAUS Translation Technology Landscape Report (2016), I researched and wrote the section describing the translation technologies available at the time and their role in language production workflows.

For The Translation Industry in 2022 (published in 2017), I wrote Chapter 5, Six Drivers of Change, which examined the forces expected to shape the translation industry over the following five years.

To read my contributions, head over to my archive.

The outcome
The reports provided language industry professionals with research, analysis, and practical insights into emerging technologies, automation, and the future direction of the translation market.
